Saddam Azlan Salim was appointed to NVTC by the Virginia Senate in April 2024.

Senator Salim is a Bangeldeshi-American immigrant who came to the U.S. when he was just 10 years old. After experiencing homelessness shortly after moving to the US, his family moved to Fairfax County, where they worked their way up and found success. He attended Falls Church High School and then George Mason University, where he got his Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Public Administration. He has worked in federal financial management and consulting for over seven years. In 2023, he was elected to the Virginia Senate from the 37th District, representing the City of Falls Church, the City of Fairfax, the Town of Vienna, and parts of Fairfax County.
