Dalia A. Palchik was appointed to NVTC in January 2020. She served as chair in 2023. She is the chair of the NVTC Program Advisory Committee and a member of the NVTC Executive Committee.
Ms. Palchik has proudly represented the Providence District on the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors since 2020. Currently, she chairs the county’s Health and Human Services Committee, the Housing Committee, and the Council to End Domestic Violence. She also serves on the Board of the Virginia Association of Counties, the State Executive Council for Children’s Services, the Northern Virginia Transportation Commission, and on the Successful Children and Youth Policy Team.
Ms. Palchik was born in Argentina and moved to Fairfax County, Virginia with her family when she was six years old. She is a proud graduate of Fairfax County Public Schools, including Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology. Dalia received her Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology and French from Tufts University, and her post-baccalaureate pre-medical certificate from Johns Hopkins University.
Ms. Palchik is focused on bringing intentional transit-oriented development to Fairfax County, on finding new and creative ways to increase affordable housing, on expanding quality, affordable childcare and early childhood programs, and on ensuring active engagement with the community.
Prior to serving on the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors, Dalia served as the Providence District representative on the Fairfax County School Board. She also worked as a world language teacher, as a medical interpreter, and as a microfinance and communications specialist. She currently lives in the Providence District with her husband, daughter and mother-in-law.
