Public Hearing-I-66 Commuter Choice FY18 Program

The Northern Virginia Transportation Commission (NVTC) seeks public input on transit
and roadway projects submitted for fiscal year 2018 funding consideration as part of the
I-66 Commuter Choice program. NVTC will select projects in May and present them to
the Commonwealth Transportation Board in June for funding using revenues from tolling
on I-66 inside the Beltway. The principal objective of I-66 Commuter Choice is to select
projects that meet specific improvement goals: (1) move more people, (2) enhance
transportation connectivity, (3) improve transit service, (4) reduce roadway congestion,
and (5) increase travel options. The improvement goals are reasonably expected to
benefit the users of the portion of I-66 between I-495 (Capital Beltway) and U.S. Route
29 in the Rosslyn area of Arlington County.
