NVTC accepted comments on the 14 proposed projects under consideration for I-66 Commuter Choice FY 2027-2028 funding. 

The public comment period was open March 4 through April 3.

NVTC held a Public Hearing on April 2nd to inform the public about the projects under consideration for I-66 Commuter Choice FY 27-28 funding and provided an opportunity for public feedback.

What is Commuter Choice?

I-66 Commuter Choice funds projects to improve the reliability and efficiency of travel along the corridor by moving more travelers during busy commute periods and providing additional travel options for commuters. Funded projects must benefit toll payers of the I-66 corridor. 

About the Proposed Projects

The 14 funding applications represent transportation improvements put forward by Arlington County, Fairfax County, Loudoun County, OmniRide, and WMATA. The proposed projects include enhancements to existing bus service, new bus routes, and rail station improvements. The proposed projects would provide additional travel options for commuters across the I-66 corridor.
