Matthew Letourneau

Matthew F. Letourneau was appointed to NVTC in January 2016 and served as chair in 2019. He represents NVTC as a principal director on the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) Board of Directors and chairs WMATA’s Finance and Capital Committee. He also serves as a member of the NVTC Executive Committee, the NVTC WMATA Committee and the NVTC Legislative and Policy Committee.

Mr. Letourneau was elected to represent the Dulles District on the Loudoun County Board of Supervisors in November 2011 and re-elected in 2015, 2019 and 2023.

He currently serves as Chairman of the Board of Supervisors Finance, Government Operations and Economic Development Committee, a position he also held from 2015-2021. Mr. Letourneau also serves on the National Capital Region Transportation Planning Board and the Route 28 Transportation Improvement District Commission. From 2012-2020, he served on the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments Board of Directors and served as Board Chair in 2018.

Mr. Letourneau was a leading advocate of the Metro Silver Line extension to Loudoun County, casting a vote in favor in the project in 2012 and helping to facilitate its opening as a member of the Metro Board in 2022. He has supported numerous transportation and community improvements in the Dulles South area and throughout Loudoun County.

In 2020, Mr. Letourneau was recognized by the George Mason University Schar School of Government Regional Elected Leaders Initiative as a “Regional Elected Leader of the Year,” and in 2023, he was the recipient of the Committee for Dulles “Tower of Dulles” Award for his work in support of the Washington Dulles International Airport community.

In his professional capacity, Mr. Letourneau serves as Managing Director of Communications at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, the world’s largest business organization. He is a cum laude graduate of The Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C., and resides in Chantilly, VA with his wife and four children.
