David F. Snyder was appointed to NVTC in 1994. He served as NVTC’s chair in 2000, 2007 and 2015. For 2023, he is serving as the secretary-treasurer. He serves on the NVTC Executive Committee, the NVTC WMATA Committee, the NVTC Legislative and Policy Committee, and the NVTC Program Advisory Committee.
Mr. Snyder was first elected to the Falls Church City Council in 1994. He was selected to serve as vice mayor for the city of Falls Church in 1996 and mayor in 1998 and vice mayor again in 2010. He is Vice President, International Policy, for a property and casualty insurance trade association. Mr. Snyder chairs the National Capital Region Emergency Preparedness Council and has chaired the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments Transportation Planning Board and the Northern Virginia Transportation Authority. Mr. Snyder graduated Magna Cum Laude from Dickinson College in Pennsylvania and graduated from the George Washington University Law School in Washington, D.C. Mr. Snyder also received the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments Scull Award for regional leadership in 2010.
